2020 – The year of pandemic

                                           

This year 2020 is about to end, but it came with a lot of unexpected and certainly unpleasant surprises.

Like every other year, at the beginning of this year, a lot of resolutions and plans were made, many strategies were formed but our country, India, faced an unanticipated danger in the month of march , which was Covid-19 or corona virus .

If felt as if the year 2020 took a 180 degree turn. To combat the spread of the virus the entire country was locked down. All the offices, schools, tourists spots, places of public worship etc. were shut down. All the upcoming and ongoing exam very suspended.

Everyone tried to return back to their native homes before the lock down started. Then there was an indefinite pause in our lives, everyone was left in a state of despair in which nobody knew what would happen next.

The country was under complete lock down from 25th march, 2020 till 31st may, 2020. 

In this phase of lock down the people of our country experienced a lot of changes among them. In the beginning of the lock down there was a lot of chaos among the people because they didn’t know what to do or how react to such a pandemic. New rules and safety measures were published by World Health Organization (WHO) almost every single day which unintentionally added to the restlessness of the people.

Steadily, the people started getting used to the lockdown and its rules. Many people started appreciating the extra time which they had got and thus indulged in their childhood hobbies or some skills in some or the other way.

But with this there was also a section of the society who was suffering a lot due to this pandemic. The people who live on their daily wages were not able to earn anything due to the lockdown due to which there was some serious conditions of starvation. The government took many necessary measures to help such families for example providing free groceries, food, free medicines etc. This surely helped and improved the conditions to some extent.

Then the next phase that our country went through was the – Unlock Phase.

Unlock phase started from June 01 and is still applicable in some states of India. Unlock resulted in the opening of several places like clothing stores , malls, religious places etc. to some extent .

Currently there are only few days left of this unforgettable year, 2020, and we are still in the process of healing I would say. Covid-19 is still around us but now we are learning how to fight with it and eventually the world will definitely win against this virus.

Benefits from the lock down

The benefit of this lock down can be clearly seen by the level of reduction of the pollution in the country.  The water quality in our rivers, seas and oceans were improved, noise pollution was almost zero and the air quality also improved significantly.

Another benefit of this lockdown according to me was the reality check that life gave us. We may plan our days, week or year but when life imposes a pause on us, the world stops.

This lock down or covid-19 taught us how important it is to value the little things in our lives. No one knows what is going to happen next therefore, it is very important that we cherish every moment our lives.

We learnt the true meaning of unity in this lock down. Every single citizen of this county stood up as one against the unusual happening around us.

Let’s end this year with gratitude for being alive and happy. We all should learn at least one thing from this year, that is, when we humans come together and join our hands together , we can beat anything and everything that will come our way.

We should all together hold the hands of humanity and help others in need to make this world a better place to live.

Welcome this new year, 2021 with full of excitement and a promise to stay strong and together against any obstruction that may come in our way to achieve our goals and spread humanity.

I AM THERE

How have we become this empty?? How are we becoming this ignorant?? How are we living our lives this “normally” even after knowing how difficult this ‘life’ is for some people.

It is very alarming that how we are losing all our empathy towards other people in pain or in need. We are building this attitude of ‘who cares’ pretty easily and rapidly.

I am just here today to request all of us to still behave like ‘Humans’. Remember that we all are Humans and all humans are termed as social animals for a reason. We need to be there for each other if we want to survive in this world. We need to look out for our loved ones, we need to tell our loved ones that we are there for them anytime if they face any problem.

HOW TO CONSOLE SOMEONE WHO IS IN TROUBLE

If you are seeing that one of your close or loved ones are not doing that great maybe mentally. They may be facing a lot of trouble living their lives due to some happenings. Just try to feel their pain and suffocation they might be going through.

In case you want to help someone just go to them ,text them or call them and tell them that –

Things might seems to be pretty ugly.

There may be a times when you may be feeling as if you are falling apart or you are not feeling okay or mentally at peace,

Just remember i am there for you . If i can’t help you with any of your problems , just remember i am standing behind you. I am there to protect you.

Remember i won’t let you fall at any cost. I will be there if something happens.

No matter how crazy you talk or what nonsense you speak when you are upset, i am there to listen.

Just let them know

Just letting someone you care about know that you are there whenever they need helps that person to get pass through a lot of pain.

Just let them talk crazy stuff let them take it out of their mind and system, it’s important they need to do it to feel light and sane again. Meanwhile, just try if you can to stand there and listen.

Make them realize that they are not alone in this journey of life,

Make them believe that they are not crazy or mentally ill. If you really want to care for someone just tell that person to not worry about anything. You are there.

Tell them things change, people change, everything is never going to be the same or this rough, things will change time will pass and there life will also eventually change for better.

Tell them they will cope up against all the odds.

Tell them they are strong.

You are worth it!!

You will be fine. You will get through this!!

Today i wanted to talk about something that is mostly neglected by a lot of us, it’s MENTAL HEALTH.

In this pandemic we all have been going through a lot of stuff, one of them being depression and anxiety. It’s quite usual to feel this way in this pandemic. If you don’t know what mental health is , it is a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being. In simple language, it is a condition your mind is in and how are you feelings( emotions).

Anxiety and depression has always been there and there are thousands and thousands of people suffering from it. We call a person depressed when he/she is sad or upset but actually depression is much more than just feeling sad or upset.

Depression, is actually a state in which you start feeling empty from within as well as your surroundings also starts to feel empty and pointless. It’s a state when you start feeling trapped like something is holding you and your heart tight. You start feeling lonely as well as rejected from everything. You start losing interest from almost everything. I want to talk about how to be aware of your mental health and depression. It is very necessary to do so because some people are not even aware that they are going through somethings and it can lead to very serious consequences.

BE KIND TO YOUR OWN MIND

PAUSE

Take a pause. Sit and think how are you feeling. Allow your own self to feel because sometimes we stop our minds to feel a certain feeling because it is not that pleasing. It may be beneficial for time being bit if you really want to heal that problem you should first allow yourself to feel it and understand that feeling which is bothering you.

TAKE A BREAK

Taking a break may give peace and calmness. If you and your emotions are just fumbled, try taking a little break from everything. Try to something that just gives you peace and if you are feeling that nothing is giving you peace , just sit and start taking deep breaths. It will really calm your mind. If you are feeling restless and worried due to this pandemic and covid-19 situation, then just top watching news about Covid for sometime . It will help to recover from that restlessness.

REACH OUT AND SEEK HELP

If you feel that you are feeling something that you are unable to handle or its just tampering your mind and your goals, seek help. Talk to your loved ones. Try sharing to them about what are you going through . A single call or text with your loved ones can change your whole perspective. If you can go to counselor , great. If you think you do not have any one to talk to then talk to your self. Explain to your own self what are you feeling and tell yourself that you will get through this, you will fight with this and you will be a happy person again.

Just never ignore your feelings , respect your feelings too. Take care of your own self and remember if you love yourself, you can fight with anything.

Are we really still this Racist ?

Yes i know ,the Black v/s White is burning topic right now and that’s why i am writing on this. I am not that poetic though , so it’s going to be pretty straight and direct.

Honestly, i am not writing this to discuss about any certain event or about any particular person , I am here to tell that “WE ALL ARE SAME.”

WHAT MAKES US ALL SAME

We breathe the same air as anyone else in this whole world.

We eat the similar kind of food.

We all drink the same water.

We all have one heart that pumps blood and keeps us alive.

We are all working in some of the other way to secure our future.

Then what makes few of us different or I should say what allows someone to treat someone differently?

Why is someone allowed to misbehave or abuse someone on the basis on any trait ?

In this world where we are reaching so many impossible places through our technology and wisdom but we are lacking one thing – HUMANITY

Now let’s talk about certain things what makes us “EXACTLY SAME”

We all have the same right to live our lives on our conditions.

We all have the same right to spoil our lives in our way.

I AM WHO I AM

Nobody has the right to judge you on any basis whether its your gender, caste,language, appearance or your color. The world will not remember you for this.

The world will remember you for your hard work , your kindness , your achievements, your struggle and your elegance. Never be ashamed of how you look , your color , your caste etc.

And being humans , we should never forget humanity. If we do not have humanity we have nothing. We need to respect each and every body , no matter how they look , we are all same. We need to respect everyone’s lives and help each other in need.

Lastly remember,

YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE AND YOU’RE GOOD.

HEALTHY MIND, HEALTHY LIFE

How’s your life going? Feeling stressed? Anxiety? Sad about something ? Happy? Excited?

You might be feeling some of the above or something other.

Today i am not here to discuss about people who are feeling sad or stressed, today i am here to discuss about everyone in general.

We can do somethings to make our mind and body happy and relaxed.

WHAT TO DO??

Pick one new thing to do everyday

Trying new things really works our mind and makes us very attentive. Pick any thing , it might be trying new dance form , new musical instrument , new workout, write etc. Try anything , it can be a small or a big thing but try to push yourself .

This would really work your brain muscles and you will end up feeling very productive and happy.

Be Optimistic

Yes i know we hear this every single day , “think positive” , “be optimistic”, “take things positively” etc. But this is the truth. Being an optimistic really changes you lifestyle.

Start slow. Becoming an optimistic is a little time-consuming. Start by saying something positive to your own self every morning . Say something that really lifts your mood , something that makes you happy and energetic instantly. Personally i say to myself every morning that, ” I am going to have a great day.” Just saying this really helps me to stay positive the entire day. You too try it.

GRATEFUL LIST

We all our busy worrying about the stuff we don’t own but we don’t look onto the things that we already own. We should be grateful for things we have. It’s a good habit.

Either write or just say it to your own self. Everyday either before going to bed or the next morning write just one something you were/are grateful for. It really changes the way you look at things. You start appreciating small things that you already own. This habit will make you more kind and humble . It will make you self-satisfied.

Self help is the best way to heal your problems.

Love your self.

A NOTE TO CORONA

This is a very difficult time for the entire world right now due to Covid-19. We are hearing news, quotes , memes etc. saying

“This is the new normal”

But not everyone is taking this “new normal” that normally. It’s difficult for most of us to constantly wear mask, avoid gatherings and maintain social distancing.

But we can do certain things to keep us busy for sometime or i might say to keep us positive in some manner.

What can we do?

Write a Letter.

Yes , write a letter to this Covid-19 situation . I know it may sound crazy but trust me this will help you in many ways.

Suppose your birthday is coming and since we are maintaining social distance so you might not be able to celebrate it the way you used to do earlier.

But this year you can do something new.

Suppose it’s your birthday , take out sometime and sit down with a pen and paper . Begin writing about how you spent your birthday in this Covid-19 situation different from your other birthdays.

Write your own small letter on your birthday.

Birthday was just an example , you can write this on any upcoming occasion, or any day you feel like.

Why you should right this letter?

I am suggesting this method because writing is way to express your feelings. Due to all this situation going on, it may give you a little relief.

This letter will stay as a memory to you because we often don’t remember the whole day , but having a letter about that will give a whole picture of how you spent that day in future.

In present, it will make you feel happy as well as relieved. It will help you to collect all your thoughts of that day and store it for forever in form of a letter.

BE YOUR OWN THERAPISTS

Since our childhood we are taught to that god only help those you help themselves. This is a statement i truly believe in.

The day you decide to help yourself, to control your feelings , your life and your thoughts start changing.

In my last blog i mentioned about how people are suffering mentally due to this Covid-19 situation.

Somewhere we all are facing restlessness, anxiety, grief and different sorts of mental pressure in this situation.

HOW TO HELP YOURSELF ?

Now is the question how can you help yourself during this Covid-19 situation because let’s be honest not everyone suffering can go to a therapists.

So what’s the solution of this problem?

It’s common to feel as if you are trapped or a sense of restlessness during this current situation but you can overcome this feeling by doing meditations or by taking few deep breaths.

Meditation can be viewed as the antidote to stress. It helps to increase immunity too. Practicing meditation for a few minutes daily can help you with your restlessness .

List of things you can do that can make you feel better

Talk to your loved ones about how you are feeling. Sharing your feelings and getting them out of your body really help in calming you down.

Read something. Maybe a book, some blogs, any article etc. Reading may help you to distract your mind from the current situation.

Write it down. This is one of the most effective one. When you write down how are you feeling its really helps you get rid of that feeling, your head will feel light.

Have a hobby. It really helps to increase your confidence and self esteem . In this pandemic, we all our getting away from our goals and this may decrease the level of confidence in you .

Try following at least one of these suggestions that i have listed above. It will really calm your mind down .

And if nothing works for you, then just simply go in front of the mirror and keep repeating to your own self that –

“This time will pass”

“I am a strong person and i can handle this feeling very well”

“I will achieve my mental peace back and will be happy ”

Keep repeating such sentences to yourself because doing so will make sure that you don’t get any negative thoughts further .

At the end,

LOVE YOURSELF

PANDEMIC

Yess , it is a pandemic. The entire world is suffering physically as well as mentally.

Everyday people are going through various emotions like anxiety, depression, helplessness, sorrow and many more. People are themselves confuse about there feelings, and honestly we cannot blame anybody. The situtation going around the world is responsible for this sort of confusion.

If till now you are unable to guess the pandemic i am talking about,

It’s COVID-19.

This virus has changed the entire world.

As i have mentioned that this virus is hitting people mentally as well as physically , but i am here to talk about its effects on people mentally.

The people who are suffering from this virus as well as those who are at their home taking precautions for the same are going through anxiety , fear and restlessness.

These emotions are very normal right now and its not only you who are facing these, everybody is going through them in some of the other ways.

My purpose right now is just to tell everyone that you are not alone in this pandemic.

You are not the only one who is unable to control their emotions or are unable to

detect them or understand them . It’s okay to feel this way right now.

WHY ARE YOU FEELING THIS WAY ?

It’s because every day, every morning we wake up and see that this many people died,

we see how the entire world is mourning,

we see how people are locked in their own house,

we see how many people are away from their families and their loves ones.

All our plans and goals for the year is somehow paused. You cannot do certain things even if you want to.

These are only a few reasons that i have listed , there are many more reasons and because of these reasons only we are going to this unknown and weird grief.

This unknown feeling is in my opinion Empathy. We all are humans, we tend to have empathy with others, and it’s good.

We are going through this because we can relate to other people who are losing their loves ones and are suffering because of this virus.

In this time , we all can only become each other’s strength.

It’s time we need to remember that we are humans and

BELIEVE IN HUMANITY.

LONELINESS:02

Yes there has to be a part two of this emotion…

Its not something which you can discuss in just a couple of minutes.

As i have already told you about this dangerous, complex emotion , I consider it to be my duty to make you aware that this emotion is very complex but to identify it, its very easy.

If you feel that you may get into this emotion, you feel that yes you face difficulty in expressing your complex feelings, dont go searching for someone who can help you to get it out from within you.

Yes its good to share your feelings to someone, but it should be you , you should be the first one to identify that feeling thats bothering you.

And actually its not that tough though,

Try talking to your own self, ask questions from your own self about that mysterious feeling , keep asking it till the time you find some answer.

Try to write the answer that your own self gave you. When you will try writing about your feeling thats bothering you , you will go a step closer to your problems .

Now it’s time you go and discuss these feelings to your loved ones

Reach out for that one person who never fails to understand your emotions, try to talk, the more you talk, the more you share, the more you will be relieved, trust me.

If you don’t have someone that close or you have a fear that people may misunderstand your feelings then try talking to your self. As I said the more you talk the more relief you’ll get.

Try and find out measures that help you tackle those complex and disturbing feeling.

There’s nothing that you can’t handle and specially when it comes to emotions, nobody can know you better than your own self.

LONELINESS : 01

Ask a question to your own self today..

Am I feeling alone???

OR

Am I feeling lonely???

I made you do so because often people mess up these two emotions.

If your answer is , you are feeling alone, then be happy your answer is alone.

Feeling ALONE is an emotion where you wish to be surrounded by your loved ones so that you can express your feelings with them.

Feeling ALONE can be cured by just figuring out the person whom you want to share your feelings with.

Now comes the most dangerous answer or emotion according to me ,

LONELINESS

Its an emotion when you feel alone and empty from within. Loneliness is a bit different from feeling alone. Loneliness, is a feeling when your heart is experiencing a ton of intense feelings , ton of unknown but strange feelings which you wish to share but when it comes to actually sharing you are unable to express them in words. You fall short of words sometimes or sometimes you are worried to portray those feelings as to how they will affect you personal life.

Loneliness, believe it or not is the most dangerous emotion known to mankind.

This emotion can literally make you feel isolated even when you surrounded by your friends or family. This emotions gets you in a stage where you start craving for getting those emotions, those feelings out from your system but you still cannot find a way to do so.

This emotion is spreading at an exceptionally high rate among all of us and the only way through which this can be cured is to first identify it.

There are a lot of people who always feel it difficult to exoress themselevs but thats not loneliness, LONELINESS hits when you fail to express those feelings to your own self as well. You feel something , something that dosen’t feel good but , WHAT’S IT?? , you dont know thats when you need to realise that something needs to be taken care of.

EMOTIONS are not always good or best for an individual , its you who decides which one is good or bad.
